Writing Learning Outcomes that Drive Instruction
Tuesday, January 18, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
Location: Online
Effective (/əˈfektiv/) adjective: Successful in producing a desired or intended result.
Want to make sure your students are leaving your class with the skills they need? Build effective lesson plans by starting with student-centered learning outcomes. Creating learning outcomes that are realistic and measurable are the foundation of instructional design, and can be challenging for all educators. We use Bloom’s Taxonomy and also will introduce Fink’s Taxonomy of significant learning to integrate affective outcomes such as motivation and interest.
Participants will leave with revised learning outcomes, and practice writing effective learning outcomes as a skill for future teaching.
*Please bring learning outcomes related to a class or teaching experience you are or will be teaching, or hypothetically would teach.*
Learning outcomes are part of the Teaching-As-Research (TAR) process, and this workshop is highly recommended for those considering a Delta Internship.
