Getting Ready to Teach in the American Classroom: Building Rapport and Effective Communication Skills

This workshop will be a facilitated case study discussion–Compensation Strategies to Improve Communication–and will focus on strategies to build rapport with students early in the semester and throughout teaching a course. Sources of miscommunication between students and instructors will be investigated in order to provide participants with tangible strategies to increase effective communication (verbal and non-verbal) with others in and out of the classroom.
