Spring 2015 Delta Sponsored Local CIRTLCast
Each semester, the Delta Program will host a local discussion group as part of a CIRTLCast Series event. The local CIRTLCast event will begin with participation in a national discussion hosted online by the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL). We will then continue the discussion locally over coffee and snacks. We look forward to seeing you there!
The Delta Program will host a local discussion group for the following event in the March CIRTLCast series:
Achieving a Healthy Work-Life Balance
Tuesday, March 3, 2015
***The local discussion group for this event has been cancelled. However you can still participate in the national-level online CIRTLCast by visiting http://www.cirtl.net/events and joining the session.***
- Wendi Heinzelman, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Dean of Graduate Studies, University of Rochester
- Mary Besterfield-Sacre, Professor of Industrial Engineering and Director of the Engineering Education Research Center, University of Pittsburgh
- Rique Campa, Professor of Wildlife Ecology and Associate Dean of the Graduate School, Michigan State University
Teaching, research, administrative duties, and community service—academic duties are substantial. Add family, hobbies, and personal wellness to the mix, and a healthy work/life balance as a faculty member can be a challenge. Join this session to hear from a diverse panel of professors who will share the personal strategies and tricks that have helped them stay healthy and well-balanced. Bring your personal experiences for an engaging conversation with people sympathetic to the struggle!
If you are interested in additional sessions available online, please join virtually through the CIRTL web platform: http://www.cirtl.net/events. For more information about the entire series please visit the CIRTL website or CLICK HERE.
COFFEE AND PASTRIES WILL BE PROVIDED!
